Graduation in less than 7 months..

I am will be graduating from this awesome university where I have learned a lot and met some quite amazing people. I have had an interesting internship with the department of athletics also known as Northwest Athletics. Our athletics department is kinda big deal. We just won the Division II National Championship in football and cheerleading. Our dance team and mascot, Bobby Bearcat did not do too bad either.

I have looked into an internship this summer at an Integrated Marketing Communication firm in Western Illinois. That's right, I am not going to be doing any name dropping until it is a for sure thing. And when/if that happens then I will be screaming from the rooftop. I am also trying to look into some careers in the South because this cold weather is killing me! I am thinking Arizona because nice weather plus no hurricanes.

Northwest's laptop

Starting in Fall of 2008, all full-time graduate students have received a brand new HP laptop. I thought this sounded great. They have bluetooth so I can send pictures and music from cell phone to laptop. I was pretty impressed. It has this fingerprint scanner and it is supposed to make it easier than putting in a password. It was placed on the bottom right side of the laptop so everytime I move my right hand over an inch. It hits the fingerprint sensor and messes up what I was working on. It will say that fingerprint wasn't recognized because it wasn't my finger! I have tried to find a way to shut it off but I was unsuccessful!
Since Fall of 2008, I have been through 6 HP laptops. I had a mouse die, a computer that wouldn't turn on, 2-3 overtaken by viruses, and a few that wouldn't let me on the university website. Earlier this summer, I had to drive 4 hours to exchange laptops. This made me late on some of my online classes' assignments. I love the features of this laptop but I am also happy to have a full-time staff available to replace the malfunctioning computers.

Quincy Humane Society

In Quincy Illinois, a dog park was just opened after years of community residents asking for one. It only costs $10 a year and the dog must have shots up to date.

When I was at this new dog park, I noticed there wasn't any trees where the dogs could get shade and the trash cans to throw away their poo are only up by the entrance.

The price is cheap but trust me, the heat will get to you quick.

This is the website for a video tour of the facilities.

The reason I care about the dog park is because of my one year old German Shepherd Misha. She is the only dog in the house and she needs social time just like a kid would. She enjoys being chased by other dogs and is the one who provokes the chase.

Northwest Missouri State University

As a high school senior, I knew that I wanted to go to college but the last few months I was torn between Culver Stockton College and Northwest Missouri State University. Culver was only 20 mins. from my house and 5 miles from where I work, at the Terrible's Mark Twain Casino. Northwest seemed to be out in the middle of no where. In the town of Maryville, I never even knew it existed. I went to visit Northwest and I knew that I could see myself there. I finally picked Northwest because I knew if I didn't then I would regret it. I would regret staying safe in an area that I was raised.
The first few days of college, I was so homesick. I had an awful room mate who was like my polar opposite. But down the hall was a girl name Ashley Cox and she became my best friend. We now have an apartment together a mile from Northwest.
